Executive Vice President, Intermediary Sales

Mr. Smith joined Man Investments Inc. in March 2004. As Executive Vice- President Intermediary Sales, his focus is on the development and service of the Northeast coast of the U.S., including of Texas.

Mr. Smith has over 17 years of experience in the financial services industry, starting his career in 1989 at Schemp-Hirth Mortgage, working in the commercial finance field. In 1992, he became a Financial Consultant with Merrill Lynch, where he held several positions, including Advisor, Regional Sales Rep, National Sales & Marketing Manager, and National Sales Director. At Merrill Lynch Russell lead the successful sales efforts in the Separately Managed Accounts program, called Consults. He was also in charge of the marketing efforts that focused on the fee-based products of Merrill Lynch. Russell graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Finance, and is a member of IMCA with his CIMA designation.

He has been very active within the industry trade groups, acting as co-chair of the MMI’s Sales & Leadership conference in 2003, as well as co-chairing several conference committees for the Investment Management Consulting Association.
